Beautiful bride Mallory met her future groom, Brett, on her first day of work after moving to Atlanta from New York City. Born and raised in New York, Mallory was not sure what to make of this overly kind gentleman from Alabama. Little did she know that his Southern charm would soon win her over and lead to the most memorable Atlanta History Center wedding at The Swan House.

While maintaining her New York style, Mallory wanted a wedding that highlighted her love of Atlanta. Their wedding was to be a glamorous affair filled with Southern charm – Midnight in the Garden. Mallory and Brett desired an elegant, historic location, and they quickly decided on the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center. The architecture of the building, surrounded by the luscious greenery of the gardens was the perfect setting for their nuptials.

Design and decor were the second priority for Mallory and Brett. The florist was challenged with combining the glitz and glam of New York City with the feel of Southern charm. The final creation by Tulip was nothing short of spectacular. As guests arrived, they walked through a pergola draped with champagne satin fabric, accompanied by arrangements of blooms in white, green, and accents of pale blush. At The Swan House, guests descended the stairs, flanked by lush garden-style arrangements on the stair ledges. Guests were handed a glass of champagne as they found a seat on the lawn, indicating the official start of the celebration.

As the bridal party descended the steps of The Swan House towards the lawn for the ceremony, the bridesmaids’ bouquets of white blooms and greenery were a beautiful contrast to their slate blue dresses. The boutonnieres for the gentlemen featured a white ranunculus with greenery accents, wrapped in a blue vapor ribbon, a perfect complement to the bridesmaids’ bouquets and dresses.

Mallory and her father stepped out of the Swan House doors as Luna Strings began to play a medley from The Patriot – a tribute to Mallory’s figure skating routine from childhood. Carrying a bouquet of blush peonies, white roses, ranunculus, Queen Anne’s lace, and silver dollar and baby blue eucalyptus, Mallory wowed her guests in a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown.

Following the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres in the Boxwood Gardens. Cocktail rounds were draped in federal shantung linens and adorned with decorative lanterns with an enclosed arrangement of wedding blooms. Highboys were covered with a blue twist linen, tied with a federal shantung sash, and featured rose gold containers with wedding blooms.

When guests entered the Grand Overlook Ballroom for the reception, they felt as though they had walked into a gorgeous southern garden at midnight. The 32-foot-long estate table featured a navy sequin linen with tall glass vases topped with a large organic arrangement of wedding blooms and greenery, small low and lush arrangements, and vignettes of candlesticks and floating candles. The guest tables were a mixture of square and round tables to provide texture to the room and were flanked by acrylic chivari chairs.

The garden was brought to life by ten-foot-tall airy ficus trees placed amongst the tables and surrounding the dance floor. Hanging glass globes with candles added a sense of whimsy to the space. Cafe lights crisscrossed above the dance floor, while up lights surrounded the outer edges of the room in a warm amber glow. Pin spots highlighted each of the beautiful centerpieces. At their place settings, guests found magnolia leaves indicating their seat assignment in calligraphy. Light blue napkins and cobalt blue water goblets completed the place setting.

The couple’s wedding cake was elegant and sophisticated, with a hint of fun. Baker’s Man designed a five-tier white and gold cake with hand-made magnolia blooms. Peeking out on two of the layers were the bride’s family’s pet corgis! Bold Catering customized the late-night snack to feature flavors from Mallory’s hometown. They created a display of beef on weck sliders, a specialty of upstate New York, and a cheese display of Yancey Fancy’s Cheese with assorted crackers, nuts, and dried fruits.

Following heartfelt toasts, the dance floor officially opened to the creative mixes of Lethal Rhythms. As the evening wore on, guests were delighted as our team presented them with glow sticks, fiber optic wands, and light-up tambourines. Guests danced the night away until it was time for the send-off when Mallory and Brett drove off in a 1941 red Cadillac convertible.
