Rain – it’s a bride’s worst nightmare. Or so you would think. But this past September, nothing was going to ruin Heather and Evan’s wedding day. Not even torrential downpours throughout their ceremony and reception. When we saw the weather forecast that morning, we were nervous what was in store for this Ponce City Market rooftop wedding. It turns out we had nothing to worry about as it was a day filled with family, friends, fun, and most importantly, love!

Ponce City Market has been one of the most popular gathering spots in Atlanta since it first opened, making it an exciting location for a wedding. With its industrial feel and bright colors, there was an endless array of perfect photo ops throughout the day. We love Heather’s elegant ball gown wedding dress set against the industrial backdrop.

We constantly say there are no cookie cutter weddings, and it is most important that your guests see you as a couple shining through on your wedding day. As a chef, Heather found creative ways to share her love of food throughout the day. Along with purple irises, these boutonnieres also featured cabbage leaves for greenery.

The market was a great backdrop for some fun wedding party photos. Between the bridge to the Beltline or right in the middle of the food hall, these were not your average posed wedding party shots, which was perfect for this couple. Their choice of venue helped Heather and Evan’s fun loving spirits shine through.

Shortly before guests started to arrive, the skies opened up and did not stop until late in the reception. Luckily, this couple was so excited to get married that a little rain was not going to get in the way of their special day. The cafe lights under the tent were the perfect addition to the couple’s sweet ceremony.

Guests were in for a culinary treat during the reception, starting with cocktail hour as chefs from W.H. Stiles Fishcamp shucked oysters on the spot. Once cocktail hour was over, everyone enjoyed delicious Fox Brothers BBQ.

While the weather may have been uncooperative, Heather and Evan’s wedding was still a perfect day of celebration surrounded by their family and friends. We loved being a part of their day! A special thanks to all of their wonderful vendors and to the great staff at Ponce City Market!
